About StoneSoft

StoneSoft – “carving at the joints of art and nature”

The name StoneSoft is inspired by the unique features of a mineral called steatite (also known as soaprock or soapstone) which is used in a lot of our handmade pieces. We “carve at the joints of nature and design” which means we try to find and showcase nature’s beauty in each of our pieces.

Since 2009 StoneSoft creates handmade jewellery and art objects made of soapstone, driftwood, amber and many other natural minerals and materials.Essig-Öl-Flaschen_01_gr

Our ambition as artisans and designers is to craft elaborate and extravagant pieces while trying to shed light on the beauty nature already has to offer. Our work is meant to be a “spotlight” on nature’s design. We try to give room to the different textures of various materials within each piece.

The combination of wood and stone, the interplay between soft and rough surfaces is what we focus on in our work. We want our work to touch you and be touched by you. We wish to create a need in you to touch our work yourself, to feel the different textures and to enjoy the unique appearance of StoneSoft’s art.

StoneSoft is a family-business combining the expertise of Katja Goretzki in the field of design and craftsmanship and the competencies of Leo Goretzki in the field of online marketing and distribution. As mother and son we always had a very close relationship which helped us creating a positive and creative atmosphere in order to match the high standards we set ourselves. We love the objects we craft and we enjoy talking about our art as well. We hope that we can surprise you with new ideas and projects in the future.
